You Either Have Excuses or You Have Results

I love the quote, “You either have excuses or you have results,” because it reminds me to focus on what I can do and what areas of opportunity there are to tap into.

In dental practices I hear a lot of excuses and it's easy to fall into that trap when things aren't going your way.

I hear things such as:

  • We have too many dentists in this town.

  • With the economy, patients aren't spending money on dentistry.

  • We have too many corporate dental practices moving in and all of our patients are changing to a lower fee practice.

If you want to increase your business and have a more abundant practice, falling into the trap of blaming and making excuses for your lack of results will only produce more of the same and keep you exactly where you are.

If you'd like to think bigger and see results and growth in your business, then focus on and speak about opportunities in your practice.

  • How can we grow?

  • What can we do to provide a service that retains our patients and attracts new patients and referrals?

  • What can we do instead of falling into the trap of making excuses or blaming outside circumstances for the lack of results in your practice?

When you take full ownership and say, “The results in my practice are a direct reflection of what I'm putting into my practice,” that puts power back into your hands and you can focus on the potential and not fall into the trap of just making excuses.
