Toxic Team Members

One of the hardest decisions my clients face is deciding when it’s time to let a toxic team member go.

It’s hard because it’s confrontational, it’s scary and it puts you outside of your comfort zone. What’s happening when you keep that toxic team member in your practice is your A team members, or the team members who are really there to help you reach your vision and reach your goals, are becoming more and more unhappy at work.

This is such an important decision because keeping a toxic team member on your team for too long is one of the top reasons I see your best team members leaving your practice.

It’s really important you protect your team members who really are there to help you further your vision and to reach your goals because they’re going to get tired of working in an environment that feels toxic.

You might think that your patients don’t notice that you have a toxic team member on your team, but I promise even if they’re behaving in front of your patients, the energy in your practice feels toxic.

I have heard story after story where clients tell me that after they’ve let a team member go who was toxic, the patients report, “It feels so happy here,” or “It just feels like such good energy in the practice”. They can feel it, your team can feel it, so make the difficult decision and let that toxic team member go. Your team will thank you for it!
